The Keizerstraat, centuries ago called "Via Caesarea" after emperor Charles V., is a prestigious street where painter Peter Paul Rubens used to visit his brother-in-law Balthasar de Grootte, mayor Nicolaas Rockox (at nr.10 and 12) and painter Frans Snyders (at nr. 8).
