Tongo Sail Inn is one of the very few beach resorts in Philippines with a typoon safe anchorage. The anchorage accomodates over 40 ocean going motor yachts and sailing boats. It was used already by the Spaniards when they arrived to Philippines with their galleons in the 16th century. It's probable they were using Polynesian pilots as the word "Tongo" means "mangrove in Polynesian.
