The second largest hospital is located in Kuala Belait and was opened in1972.  It has 185 beds and is currently undergoing a major renovation.

With the completion of the second phase of the renovation project the hospital now has a modern operating theartre and 16 private rooms.  The new Out-patients and Emergency Section has facilities that include an operating theatre that enables emergency patients and patients who require urgent medical attention to be treated immediately. Phase I of the project has been completed as has seen the commissioning of a modern Operation Theatre Suite and 16 private rooms. The new Out-patient and Casualty section has facilities including minor operation theatre for managing acute trauma patients as well as other emergencies requiring immediate resucitation.
