FACILITIES: The pool lies just above the beach, with its beautiful swaying mangrove trees; this is a perfect place to watch the sun go down. The luscious gardens, gradually leading down from the Ruins to the beach are home and paradise to many species of butterflies and birds. Mangroves dot the sea, providing a habitat for jewelled fish and birds including the gorgeous Mangrove Kingfisher. The garden was conceived in 1991 and is now established as a flourishing Botanic Garden which includes over 650 plant species including 120 species of palms. Most of the plants are labelled. There are so many things to do at Mbweni. The advantage of being on the beach but close to the Stone Town, is that you can take any of Zanzibar's exciting trips from here and return to peace and tranquillity in the evening.
